Canon imageCLASS MF244dw Series Reviews Printers– This printer seemed to be suitable for me and my printing needs, This printer is wonderful! I didn’t need to print in color, so the fact that this printer molds only black and white is perfect for me. I was looking for it with my old HP all-in-one printer that used ink cartridges that I was throwing away money with ink. I would print a few pages here and there and then the cartridges would be dried out, which was frustrating because I felt like throwing money away. If you’re looking for an inexpensive printer, I wouldn’t look over the Canon imageclass MF244DW printer here. I didn’t need a fax function, so this particular model seemed perfect for me.

Setup

The setup was relatively easy for me. I currently have a wireless network with which I run all my devices. I run on Mac OSX operating system on MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. I also use IOS on my mobile devices. Printing via AirPrint from my iPhone 6s Plus and IPad is really easy! I am thrilled to be able to print anywhere in the house wirelessly as it is really convenient not to get bogged down by the cables. I downloaded the drivers from the Canon USA support site for this printer, but I’m not sure it was a necessary thing to do. I think this particular printer could have been configured without those drivers because I think they are already integrated into OSX. Since opening the box to the printing of my first Test paper, I have been up and running in about 20 minutes without needing any external help. This time it included time to remove my old inkjet printer and clean the area I was going to install this new printer. I am not a Windows PC user, so I have no experience with installing on that operating system. I have enabled the Power saver option to help me save some money on my electric bill, but I retain the ability to quickly print as needed from one of my computers or mobile devices.

Print Quality

The print quality is right there for me. I was used to using inkjet printers and coming to this laser printer was a huge step forward for me in the quality department, especially when I was printing documents containing a lot of text. The print of the letters is crisp and clear even on the printer’s default settings, at least on my particular printer.

Scanning documents

I scanned several documents. After a quick adjustment of the DPI settings, the documents seem to scan with a very high quality. I currently scan documents in the settings of 150 dpi or 300 dpi and I am really impressed with the quality of the scans that use these settings. I like how on my Mac I can easily save the documents as PDF and then print copies or send them via email those documents as needed.

Final Thoughts

As I said before, the inkjet printer system I had was no longer something I felt good about using, indeed it seemed like a huge waste of hard earned money. I was tired of always paying what seemed like a lot of money to print a handful of documents here and there and then go back and find the ink cartridges clogged or dried when I needed to use them again. The nice thing about this printer is that I am told that Canon’s 137 toner cartridges will never dry out like an inkjet cartridge.
