Canon PIXMA TS6100 Series Reviews Printers– Canon’s Pixma TS6100 ($149, but available for less than $100 with a discount of $50) offers a good assortment of features at a low price. For beginners, you get two paper trays: a 100-sheet cassette underneath and a 100-sheet vertical tray on the back, along with a duplexer for duplex printing. More importantly, Canon’s all-in-one compact inkjet produces high-quality images, thanks to the use of the printer for both a black color ink cartridge and a pigmented black ink cartridge to maximize the quality of printing on photos and text documents. The printing costs of the text are low, while the color graphics were closer to the average.Canon stresses the compact size of the TS6100. At 14.7 x 12.5 x 5.5 inches, the main body of this all-in-one is quite compact. But these dimensions do not include paper trays. Inserting the paper drawer adds about 1.5 inches to the depth; Fold the control Panel to 45 degrees and add another thumb. Extract to the full extension, the latch of the outgoing paper protrudes 9 inches from the main body. The second feeding tray, which pulls up and leans backwards, adds about 5 inches to the depth and about 7 inches to the height. Be sure to include them when calculating your space requirements.
The control Panel has a 3-inch color LCD and some buttons. You use the touch screen mainly to navigate the menus. Buttons labeled black and color start a copy or scan after you choose the mode in the touch-screen menu, but do not start in black and white or color copy or scan on your own and you can not program them in the foul too.
I would have preferred more physical buttons, since I found the touch screen sometimes not responding, requiring different touches to record an entry. On the positive side, inside a menu, you can scroll up and down on a list without repeatedly touching a button on the screen.
The two paper trays of the TS6100 allow you to keep two types of media loaded if you wish. Both trays may contain Letter-size paper. By default, the printer prompts you to record the paper size each time you remove the tray or insert the paper into the back tray. It’s annoying, but you can disable this warning.
The printed text TS6100 documents very quickly, at 9.8 pages per minute. The TS6100 took only 30.7 seconds to print our five-page text document, improving the average time of 38.2 seconds for other all-in-one inkjet. The only model we saw was the fastest Epson WF-2760, which printed the same pages in 30.2 seconds.
Using the duplex unit, TS6100 has printed text documents at 3.5 ppm, which is fast for this class of printers. In comparison, Canon’s Pixma MG3620 printed two-sided text documents with a pokey 1.7 ppm, while the HP Envy 5540 recorded a clock at 3.6 ppm.
The TS6100 has transformed the color graphics time faster in its category by printing our six-page document in just 1 minute and 56 seconds or 3.1 ppm, compared to the average of 2.4 ppm for inkjet jets. Very impressive, the Canon all-in-one printer has printed a duplex document at about the average speed for prints at a façade, at 2.3 ppm.
The TS6100 was also the fastest model for printing photos, churning out a glossy print of high-resolution literals in just 1 minute and 54 seconds. While the average time for inkjet is 5:50, some other models were not far behind compared to TS6100, such as HP Envy 5540 (2:12) and Epson WF-2760 (3:23).
The copies arrived quickly, both in black and white and in color. In both cases, the TS6100 has been the fastest model to date. Black and white copies arrived in 9.4 seconds, well over the average of 16.3 seconds for all-in-one inkjet products. By making color copies in 19.2 seconds, TS6100 also beat the average of 29.6 seconds. The closest competitor was Canon’s Pixma MG3620, which took 27.3 seconds.
At 10.4 seconds, the black and white scan on the TS6100 was in line with the category’s average. However, the color scanning at 600 dpi was significantly faster than that achieved with comparable models. The TS6100 has performed this scan in only 58.9 seconds, exceeding the inkjet average (78.4 seconds) and ending only behind the Pixma MG3620 (39.4 seconds).
