They are lukewarm for this purchase based more on its lightweight construction rather than on the actual lack of performance. The thing that I do not like is that the TS6050 to print the control Panel must be hinged upwards, but unlike other Canon printers I had to manually open the panel that I don’t think is the 21st century, and, to add to the anguish , so you have to fold the paper binder. For me, when I am in use, this printer seems incongruous like a car parked in a street with a door left open. Secondly, there is no SD card reader, even if there is a USB port.
Today the brand £100 (current price of the brown version of TS6052) is halfway in the market of multifunction devices: Now you can get decent quality devices in half. I hoped that paying more would reflect on the quality of the construction, but it is not so. This 5-cartridge machine is compact and, although it has a reduced basic footprint at the time the control panel is lifted and the paper tray is extended, plus the back paper tray, you need more space than expected. There are front and rear paper feeds, although the front card drawer is of a fairly modest capacity, the rear slot can hold up to 100 sheets.
The installation is quite simple and the cartridges each have a LED-I can’t help but wonder how green it is? The driver is simple, but the font used gives it a slight “Toy Town” look. The black and white text output is crisp and the image quality is pretty good, plus the speed is fine for my needs. The life of cartridges with standard tanks instead of XL is average and you can get decent varieties of third parties. Even the scans and copies are decent.
Altogether, this printer will do for odd page and occasional report, but in my opinion Canon has deteriorated their image from the economic construction and flap of manual control. This will do it for now but it’s not a product I’m happy about.
